The fun really started this week. After learning a little about what we would have to do in the computer design program, we stared making a model of our skatepark using cardboard manipulatives. Of course, after a bit of work we realized that the cardboard was really hard to work with making some of the smaller pieces we needed, so we started over with cardstock instead. The cardstock was much easier to manipulate and control so we were really excited about our progress. We had to make sure we were building with shapes that we could easily find in the design program to make sure we would be able to design them on our own since we are just learning and only have a couple of weeks to get all of the pieces ready to print. 

We also realized that it was just too tiny to work with still, so we came up with a different scale for the cardstock park. We can still travel with it, but bigger was way easier to work with. The pieces for the printed park will still be the original scale to save hundreds of hours of printing time and lots of money in filament. We had a lot of time making these models together and were super excited for the next phase.
